My first serious interest in photography came when I first met my wife Sarah.  Her father had passed his knowledge and interest on to her and there started my involvement.  At the time we spent many hours walking the hills and mountains in England’s Lake District so a merge of the two came quite naturally.  That was back in the film days where I used both colour and black & white, print and transparencies, 35mm and 6×6 medium formats.

Whilst I am happy to take my camera far and wide, the majority of my landscape images found on my website are taken in the the Lake District, the Scottish Highlands, Yorkshire or Derbyshire. The stunning and beautiful scenery of these areas bring some fantastic inspiration to the photographer and hence why I revisit them so often.

My use of digital started through taking pictures of our children and our other hobby of flying kites.  Following a few years “snapping away” I became more serious again with my photography and tried many genres (see my Flickr pages).  However, I am always drawn to my love of the landscape hence I have concentrated this into the theme of my website which I hope you will enjoy. Let me know what you think.
